WHO AM I?

Back in 1995 I launched my own company called Citrus Design & Print Limited. I worked hard and built up a solid customer base.

The financial crash of 2008 almost ended my successful print business and, after months of stress, almost ended my life. My world changed. The following decade was a challenge.

Then COVID came along, and I found myself staring into the darkness once again. It’s been said that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I figured at this stage I needed a career change.

I would try my hand at writing a book, they do say that everyone has one in them, so I thought I would put that to the test. I wrote a children’s book, bit it didn’t go according to plan

MY NERVOUS BREAKDOWN is the story of how I reached rock bottom and how I found my way back.

Writing it has helped me. If reading it helps even one person to see a way through their own difficulties the struggle will have been worth it.

TESTIMONIALS

“Those of us with first-hand experience of depression often find it incredibly difficult to talk about, let alone navigate the painful twists and turns of the journey.

In My Nervous Breakdown, Stuart Lloyd Gould, with the support of artist Lee Thacker, poignantly captures the struggle of mental crisis while offering hope that, no matter how deep the descent into darkness, it is possible to emerge into the light, and stay there. Stuart shares his remarkable story with the warmth, humour, and self-deprecating charm that we his friends know and love him for.”

“Stuart Lloyd Gould’s book signing was a really positive and enjoyable evening. Stuart shared his story in a genuine and engaging way, which sparked some thoughtful conversations about mental health. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it was great to see people from the local community come together.”

We were very grateful to Stuart for giving his time, sharing his experiences, and helping us continue important conversations around mental wellbeing. We were pleased to have been able to host the event and appreciate everyone who came along to support it”
